Tatia Perugiae - Feeding Question

Post by brun »

I have 2 of these, bought from Pier Aquatics in Wigan about a week ago

they seem to be doing ok but im worried about their eating habits

being nocturnal/scared of the light they hide away all day, not even coming out for a feed, so ive started to feed frozen food cubes just after lights out but they both dont always come out

are their any tablets that might be suitable as they are not your normal bottom feeding catfish, though they do rest on the bottom most of the time, their mouths are not underneath, and they swim at all levels in the tank when they come out of hiding

I found the 20 Tatia prugiae liked the foods: frozen bloodworms. freeze dried bloodworms and live blackworms. In the group setting they would feed anytime but when I set up a trio for spawning thet were never out.

It has little to do with feeding matters, for they eat almost anything.
Give them some more time to settle and don't worry. Go on with night feeding for some time - just to be sure - and after a few weeks you'll see things sort themselves out.

I'm pretty sure about that. Not in broad daylight, however. But when the room is somewhat darker they will surely turn up. Give 'em some time and you'll see.
