Incomplete list:: "Show all Hypancistrus" in Cat-e
Hi Oh Master's of planetcatfish,
I just came across something that I wanted to bring to your attention in case you aren't already aware of it.
Here is the deal: If I am looking at a Hypancistrus species on Cat-eLog and want to compare it to all other Hypancistrus and click on it, the link takes me to a very abbreviated list of species/L-numbers compared the actual number of those in the entire Cat-eLog list of L Numbers/species.
This is the only Genera that I noticed this to be the case in but I have not gone through all similar possibilities. Maybe an update could be made so all the Hyps' show up when we click that link.
Hope this was useful to point out.
Keep up the good work.

According to This there are 32 species of Hypancistrus in the Cat-eLog. The genus table that I linked to above contain 8 rows of 4 species on each row, which makes 32 species in total.
There's also exactly 32 in the list of "all Loricariidae".
Which ones do you think are missing?

Can you check again (reload the page - maybe something went wrong with the transfer to your computer). Also check if either of the two links above are there...
If I click on a random Hypancistrus listed above and then click on the "Hypancistrus" link at the top of the page, I get 32 pictures in 8 rows of 4 fishes (well, some have "No image available", but that's a different problem).
L236, L318, L316, L333, L399 and L400 are all there.
L201 isn't listed as L-number because it's a described species , which is given priority over L-numbers that are "only temporary names".

Matt,
I am getting all the hypancistrus now. The order and "missing" are now all coming up for me now.
Maybe the laptop and I needed more coffee. Initially the lower right hand photo was L173. It all is fine. I began this in the wee morning hours, local time. Had to see if I missed something but it is appearing fine. Sorry if this was a goose chase for whatever reasons.
