Shark cat tankmates?

Post by crazedpuffer »

Hi guys.
Right now I have 2 shark cats in a 10 gallon tank together (I plan on upgrading it soon) I was wondering what kind of fish could go in a tank with them? Would they do ok in a pond because someone told me they could. Thanks

nope, not in a pond. New York is way too cold for fish like this one in a pond.

but in a large tank (150G and up) this catfish can be kept with Mono's, Scats, 4 Eyed Fish, Archerfish and the like.
make sure all the others are big enough not to fit in their mouths.
Shark Cats aren't truly piscivorous that they feed on fish half their own size like some other catfish, but small fish sure are toast.

however 10G won't do the job, not even for juveniles.

Yeah I had one when I was little. It outgrew my 29 gallon and when we were going to bring it to the pet store it died :(
Are there any puffers I could possibly put them in?
Also do they really need full salt when they are older or will they manage in fresh or brackish?
