L163

Post by Cartman »

Anyone have any information on this loricariid other than what's in the Cat-elog or in the Aqualog? I just ran into one @ the LFS on Friday and decided to pick it up on a whim. It's currently in a planted Quarentine tank w/ an adolescent pair of Apisto "Pucalapa Gold". Seems to be an omnivore leaning towards veggies but it's too early to tell. It is very outgoing for a pleco.

Anyone have any specific information about the Para River in Brazil?

TIA

Hi i also had one of those in the past. But sadly it died due to power failure!! Dang it was around 7-8inches and it was quite one of my favorites since its quite territorial and eats anything :)

Cool so a few of you also have them... what size are yours? How long have you had it? has it grown much? Territorial, compared to what?

Here's a crazy thought but after observing it and looking at it's rather large prostrusible mouth does anyone else feel this could be a Scobinancistrus or possibly a hypostomus? I have yet to get a good ventral view as the tank it's in is covered on 3 sides.

Thanks

Mine was labeled in the LFS as Black Orange Ancistrus :|

He is about 3 inches long and I have had him for about 6 weeks. He is very outgoing, not at all shy and active during the day.He eats almost anything, seems to love looking for algae. I'd love to have a go at breeding them, but as I have only ever seen one in my life so far (and i got 'im), I am not sure how feasible that will be.

I can distinguish L163, but to (L075/LDA02) and L124, I is unable the very obvious classified these two kind of types.

I saw on Planet Catfish L075/LDA02 and in the L124 color difference, L075/LDA02 is the red orange color, but L124 is golden yellow.

http://www.planetcatfish.com/ilibrary/l ... /195_f.htm L075(Planet Catfish )

But I saw on German web L075/LDA02 and L124, on the picture fish all is golden yellow.

What method has to be allowed to classify them?

hi I cant differentiate the difference between an L75 and L124 but Im quite sure that the spots of an Lda02 are bigger and are fewer than the spots of an L75/L124 :)
