Cephalosilurus Nigricauda compatablilty

Post by Mook »

I paln on getting another C.Nigricauda once again and the tank that he will be in will be 96 inches long, by 48 inches wide, by 30 inches in height.
I want to know what other catfishes can be put with it I would like to get a B.Juruense though.
Wondering if they would get along in this space?
Thanks

I'm sure you know already but make absolutely certain that any tankmates you add are at least twice the size of the Cephalosilurus and remain that way, i tragically lost a 12" Sorubim lima to my then 13" C.nigricauda when i made the mistake of thinking that catfish would be safe from predatation, i should had known better having already lost a large pike cichlid to the beast a few months previously.

The growth rates on Cephalosilurus are crazy, mine went from 4" to now being around 15" long and 5" thick across the belly in a little over a year, Brachyplatystoma species however have pretty low growth rates and can take a few years to reach even a foot in length.
