Hi i recently got a 7inch tigrinus and its with an Asain redtail golden arowana and a sturio, malarmo, and ornatus catfish.. How does the tigrinus like its aeration?? I have an 10watt powerhead for the arow and an 25watts powerhead pointing down for the tigrinus! Is this correct? I also got an overhead filter, a sponge filter, and a strong aerated air-stone for a 300liter tank..
Wat du they prefer to eat? Live fish or shrimps and bloodworms? tnx

well, to give you some idea what they normally live in...
Mine seems to do fine with a tank volume turnover rate in the 12 to 15 times an hour with a 300 gph powerhead sitting low and having unobstructed flow, using a pump to get air to the bottom of the tank.

is an interesting page, considering I speak no portugese, it's a bit difficult, and babbelfish isn't great with that, but it's neat to see the others who are interested in the tankbusters some of us love(even if it is for dinner).
Except for the Sturio (wich I assume is Sturisoma sp) and the ornatus, all fish are too big for a 300 liter tank. You've got several fish that grow well beyond 2 feet and even some in the 3-4 feet range there; and there's a notorious "tankmates-killer" in there as well (Hemibagrus nemurus, the Asian Red tail).
I would search for a 250G (1000 litertank) asap, or pretty soon, your tank is a potential disasterarea.....
Plan B should not automatically be twice as much explosives as Plan A
Except for the Sturio (wich I assume is Sturisoma sp)
Actually, I think he's referring to Platystomatichthys sturio, another large pimelodid. And he doesn't have an Asian redtail catfish, he has an Asian redtail arowana.
What Sid says still stands, though...

I have a 20" Tigrinus in my 220gal tank with a wet/dry filter,, wet/dry filter does a lot of degassing and the water becomes rich in oxygen,, the only powerhead in the tank is the pump in the sump pushing the water and the Tigrinus is doing very good. Here is a pic:
nyc fish u got there Hope myn gets as big as that one! Im plnning to buy another one, Is this a good move or will the tigrinus be territorial and fight??
