Grey silure ?

Hello every body,

I bought those 3 catfish a week ago. The seller just can tell me that there are "spp."...
There are pretty nice, and quiet, no fight like pictus. They are very very all the time in group. If one go the other go with him.
There also very nice with the other fish in the tank and no problems to feeding them.They are about 12cm long in this time.
But i realise that often silure can grow up very very big and i want to find informations on them and identified them. If they grow to much, i will give theme to the "University Aquarium of Liège (Belgium)" but if they not grow up too much i really want to keep them in safe condition.

I have multiple scleroses and i can't do quality photo anymore with this APN because i rock'n'roll and i can't do anymore nice pics... and sorry for my poor english, i'm french belgium...

PS: they are in a 780L tank.

The fins look too yellowish imo.

The colouration on the fins, especially the anal and ventral fins, points to

Hexanematichthys seemanni

I think you are right, they are Hexanematichthys seemanni.

The body isn't not enough "argenté" to be Arius heudelotii from few pics i found on google.
There body are quiet dark grey, not too much, but grey without reflect.

I look many and read many description.

They are in a 780L tank with a big filter under it.
The water are pretty sweet. GH 8/KH 5/PH 7/No3 under 25mgr/l/No2 0/Po4 0.

My current population is:

3 Aequidens rivulatus 4 à 7cm
3 Astronotus crassipinis
2 Mastacembelus circomcinctus
8 Corydoras agassizii
1 Peckoltia vittata
1 Baryancistrus sp. L177
2 Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps
2 Pimodelus pictus

Because of there adult size and many description says that he need a little salt in water has he grow.
Did you think i can keep those 3 catfish ?

Also, for the pictus, baryancistrus, gibbiceps and Hexanematichthys seemanni, i was thinking to put a pump brewing on a timer to turn on it on night. All my cichlid fish go in root and cache at night.
pictus, seemanni and pleco's like fish are very active on night. I know that pictus and seemanni like a little brewing. So do you think this is a nice idea ?
