Macro of my Royal Plec

Post by Plecofanatic1989 »

Hey all.
I've been seeing a lot of nice macros lately, so I decided to upload a pic of my baby Panaque nigrolineatus.

I have only one question... how long does it take them to grow? I hear that they are very slow growers, but how slow is it?

He is beautyfull :D
Royal Panaque grow only about 2,5cm per year and maybe a little more if you do water changes very frequently and offer them rotten wood often...

He has plenty of wood to munch on. He's in a 20H right now to grow out a little bit. When he's bigger I will move him to my 55 where he'll have as much wood as he'd ever want.

It's not the best pic of my tank, but it shows the general set-up. The huge rock in the top right-hand corner is the only thing holding that piece of wood down. It's kinda cool :D !!!
Thanx for the reply

At that size you will notice good growth, but as Kostas says, 1" a year average if you look after his water.
