not what i thought...clown plec?

Post by Pooks73 »

i got this guy out of a tank of clowns, but now that he's home, i don't think that it's a clown. he might be, but there's more of a scribbled look to the pattern on the head, rather than the spotted ramdom type pattern that's usually seen on clowns. he also has more of an orange coloration to his strippes, and has a hairy type appearance. this isn't the greatest pic as he's in blue water. the tank that he was in had some tiger barbs that i saw signs of ick on, so i'm treating him just to be safe.

please excuse the ugly tank, it's just a qt tank for him for a little while. my usual qt tank has a beautiful L091 that i picked up today also, so this little guy got stuck in that tank.

is this a clown or something else?

I'm certainly no expert, but it looks very similar to my clowns (which have been positively i.d'd on this site).

i took a closer look at the pics in the catelog, and it looks like one of the pics on there. i wasn't sure due to the odd markings on the head. it's definetly not LDA01, the markings aren't that symetrical. i think it's just a regular L104, panaqolus maccus, just with some good markings. not a bad deal for $3.99...

thanks for the help everyone!!!

btw - what's this guys favorite foods? i'm not complety sure what i should be feeding him to ensure optimal health.
