bots

Post by Marc van Arc »

Did you by any chance just remove all the Bots from the registered fish keepers?
I was actually posting about it (Ageneiosus inermis with 2 Bots and 1 Anonymous keeper for instance), but while at it they've disappeared.
Well done.

While adding authors and synonyms to the 3 new Ancistrus spp., I noticed they are being kept by Bots.
Could it be that new entries automatically get bots ? If so you have another (small??) bug to get rid of  .

I _think_ I have fixed this. No bots now for 3 hours. Please post here if you find out otherwise.

I know, you don't really notice them normally except looking at your access logs. The way the forum works is clever as it identifies most of them and so you see that they are wandering around. It's just part of life on the internet though, lots of bots and spiders around alongside all the humans. Maybe best to think of them as friendly bacteria - they are, after all, mostly helping build great search engines.
