frequency of albino cory breeding

Post by discusman »

I have albino cories that were laying tons of eggs on the glass in my community tank but now they haven't done it in a couple weeks. the cories and plecos were eating most of the eggs but now ive decided to scrape them off the glass and seperate them to try to raise some. How often do they lay eggs generally?

It sounds like you've just moved your fish around. If so they'll likely just need some time to settle. I just moved some albino paleatus and they bred within the week. I guess it depends on what triggers them. It seems mine breed whenever the barometric pressure drops. Try and re-create the tank they were moved from.

I'm sorry I just re-read your post and I think I misunderstood you. If they're still in the community tank and haven't bred in 2 weeks it's really not that long. Just do the usual. Clean water, right temp., good food and then the hard part "patience".
