Re: New Glyptothorax

Yesterday I acquired 8 fish ex-Singapore labeled as "Glyptothorax cf burmanicus -- Burmese Orange Panda Catfish". They range in size from about 4-7 cm. They arrived in apparently good shape, though after 24 hours in a quarantine tank, when the above photo was taken, they are obviously still somewhat stressed. Could this be Glyptothorax rugimentum?
HH, could you kindly give us some advice as to the ecology of these fish? For example, what might the water parameters, including temperature, pH and hardness be like? Is the habitat and diet of this fish typical of other Glyptothorax species? Jools' dominant fish -- presumably an alpha male -- has bright orange bands. Do we know anything about sexual dimorphism in Glyptothorax? What relatively small mid-water fish from the Ataran, Salween and Sittang River drainages would complement these Glyptothorax in a 20 gal long tank?
Thanks,
Dinyar

Re: New Glyptothorax
Yes, these are G. rugimentum.
I don't know much about their habitat requirements, since I never collected these fish in the wild (you'd best ask Kamphol). As for suitable midwater tankmates, I would guess either Danio/Devario from southern Myanmar or some of the smaller bariliines from that area (I've seen some nice Barilius comong out of Myanmar) would be suitable.
