Need advice with cory spawn

Post by kadams »

Hi, i have a group of 6 Bronze cories in a 260l tank, thats currently being treated with eSHa 2000. This morning my cories decided to spawn for the first time, and now i'm worried because of the meds in the tank. Sadly i don't have a spare tank that i can move the eggs too, although i do have a breeding trap that i could use in my 180l tank if that would be ok?

Also, how do i go about removing the eggs from the tank?

Yes, you can use a breeding net.

Removing the eggs is often recommended to use a razor blade to scrape the eggs off the glass.

I have a friend who doesn't have extra breeding tanks like I do and what he does when he wants to save some fry from his Corydoras sterbai in community tanks is to set up a five gallon bucket with a heater and sponge filter. Fill the bucket half way. You can save several dozens this way. He moves eggs from the glass using a single edge razer blade then rinses them off into the bucket. Nothing fancy but it works.
