I have seen that named applied to mystus species :? does it have 6 whiskers or eight - if it is six it's a pim

i'm sure its a pim, because i got it from a pet store, i followed the link in the second response, and it was very helpful. right now its living in a tank with bala Sharks, rainbow sharks, an albino rainbow, and a plecy. needless to say it rules the bottom.

It probably is but shop id's are sometimes wrong - the fairly common "2-spot pim" is actually a mystus species :?

mine is definitely a 4 line, it looks like the one from the description, not the 2 spot.

Sorry, perhaps i wasn't being clear. Your fish probably is a 4-line , what i was trying to say was that pet shops often make mistakes with identity's & used the 2 sopt as a well-known example.

A different example would be syno lucipinnis, which is still being sold in 99% of shops as syno petricola

I bought a "Four-lined Pim" from a local store which ended up being a Pimelodus albofasciatus.

I moved it to South American (Everything else), since it seems to relate to Pimelodus, which is a South American species.
