Restrictions in effect for Brazilian Plecos?
Is anyone well informed on the current status concerning the export/import of Brazilian Plecos like the Rio Xingu striped/spotted whatever other than H. zebra, which is old news?
Judging from all the questions asked about identifying newly purchased fish, it doesn't look like there is any problem getting them but then again, some spp. have been in short supply regardless of the time of year this past year.

Re: Restrictions in effect for Brazilian pl*cos?
As of the last few weeks, I'm not seeing any Hypancistrus at all on availability lists. It's supposed to only affect the undescribed species, but I think it might be a case of it actually taking a bit to implement new shipping inspection procedures, also. The rainy season can contribute to some of the problems with export, so hopefully that's all it is and at least some will resume shipping in a matter of months ;).

Read this, it's like ExoticFinds said until the new positive list will be official later this year...probably in september, after that many of these forbidden species will be allowed again.
