L190 royal optimum temperature

Post by lcpete »

Hi we've had our Royal for about 2 years and he's doing well
He's in a Juwel Rio 400 Litre with tetratec 1200 external, the Juwel internal and a fluval 4 plus
also in the tank are a L147 , L007 and a leopard plec
At the moment its set at 25C is this the best temperature ? the Cat-elog quotes quite a wide range plus the upper limit for L007 is given as 26C

Best? I dont know about that, but i've had a Royal for a month or so, only about 3 inches, and the little fella is quite happy at the 26C my tank is set at. Eating well, no outward signs of illness. One thing i have learned in my short time keeping fish is this: if it aint broke, dont fix it. If you go changing your temperature there's a chance that all sorts of havoc could break out. If he's been fine for that long chances are he'll stay fine, as will everything else. I may be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time!), but thats my opinion.
