what type of fish is this

Hi, This fish is only 4inch but has allready had fry and eats algea like a machine surely its not a common plec? can you help?

and at 4" with the bald nose most definitely a female

you're in luck; they don't grow much bigger. you can keep it in almost any tanksize.

common Plecs almost reach 2 feet and outgrow most hometanks; these do not.
and they can and do reach 20 years in captivity and feed on algae till the last day..... :shock:

Hi, Thanks for your re-ply i am really pleased that they turn out to be Ancistrus cf_cirrhosus, i Think every Aquarium should have one they are fantastic clean up fish.
