a picture of some of my B/N
Hi once again,
here are some of my B/N that i keep in a 5 foot tank all together they all get along very well, for now. there are albino standard to albino longfin to standard longfin as well as calico longfin, and standard longfin plus orange spot standard.
none have cross breed as yet but i am worried that as time goes on are the different strains going to start taking each other out.
kind regards david

They are all the same species, the long fin and albino trait is just a genetic defect which is usually caused by inbreeding of mutations.
I have female that has an albino gene, so if I mate the offspring, 1/4 of the fry are albino.

"Peppermint" is a different species, but Calico is a known genetic defect in the .BNCRAZY wrote:Thanks Mats

Note that long fins and albinism is "available" in almost all fishes as a potential genetic defect - there are so many examples across different species of fish that it's clear that they "all" have that. Likewise, cats and dogs (the mamals) have "long hair", blotchy and albino, so it's nothing unique to bristlenoses.
