New fishes in tank 3 (non-auchenipterids)

Friend of Sidguppy and fellow PC member Dhonti was so kind to offer me several fishes of his South-American stock. Thanks to those people I'm now a certified lunatic (angelfish is in Dutch maanvis, which translates into English as moonfish). It has been a long time since I saw angels this beautiful! They're known as "Peru altums". Also, a couple of Catalinas (Triportheus angularis) and a pair (?) of genuine sand sifters amongst others.

Yes, they are. Amazing colours, even more when taken into account that they've been here for less than a day.

Very nice. "Natural" angelfish are actually hard to find here in the UK. They are available in all sorts of colour morphs and longer fins variations, but the natural colouration is quite rare.

you forgot to mention the "Gourami's", one of wich sneaked in the firstpicture, Mesonauta spp (not festivum)

I went home with way too many fish as well; my Madagascar tank is now an unholy mix of several continents.

Ctenolucius hujeta, Retroculus lapidifer and Hemiodopsis gracilis are now mixed in with the Malagasy fish

unfortunately this experiment didn't turn out a 100%; the mini Pike (Cteno's) and Retroculus are doing just fine, but my tank is way too busy for the poor Hemiodopsis gracilis.
I'll look for a suitable home for them as soon as I find someone with a decent tank who'll take them.

In order to enlarge the Triportheus group (trio) I was able to order some extra specimens (which are rarely offered over here). Although listed as T. rotundatus (Medium!!), I reckoned it would be my species, T. angularis. I also thought they would immediately go into tank 3 with their fellow Triportheus. Not.
Have a look at the pictures and find out that these 1 inch specimens are hard to ID (yet). Géry has them as post-larval T. spec, possibly rotundatus.
Anyway, we'll see what happens. Hopefully they won't be eaten..... by the guppies
