Found this - very interesting stocklist and gorgeus catfishes.The most peculiar and colourful catfishes goes to Japan.

any chance the platydoras is a platydoras armatulus?
was looking through burgess's atlas today and saw them in there.
The acanthadoras may just be a juvenile coloration of the interesting, but not amazing coloration on a normal A. cataphractus.

No, I don't think it's P. armatulus. If you look at the shape of the humeral process and compare it to the pics in the Cat-eLog, you will see that they are not the same shape.any chance the platydoras is a platydoras armatulus?
The ones in the Japanese website are long and slender like that of P. costatus.

ok... another one I ran across was Clariua angolensis, seemed that the coloration was very similar to that of the clarius they had posted
