grindle worms and white worms
Are grindle worms high in fat content like whiteworms and therefore should be fed sparingly?

No idea but I feed grindal worms almost every day.

I never used them, but yes, they are fat and should, therefore, used sparingly

Re: grindle worms and white worms
I wouldn't worry about whether the Grindal or White worms are too fat.
No one can prove they are anything but helpful in keeping catfish in excellent condition.
Some of these things get written down in the past and then forever after accepted as gospel when in fact, there have been no controlled studies made available. Just be glad if you can feed them to your Corydoras. They will repay you by spawning more easily.

Re: grindle worms and white worms
Just don't feed worms exclusively. A mixed diet is as good for fish as for people. But in my experience, there are many corys that won't breed without worms in their diet. And even those that breed freely, like Pateus and Aneus, breed better with worms, even frozen.

Re: grindle worms and white worms
Hi
I dont have any problems with grindle worms at all as they are fed on hot baby cereal which puts a lot of vitamins into the worms, then into the fish, thats good for them to produce the eggs and good health, as for the white worm they are fed on white or brown bread that produces fat in the worms and the only thing they get is constipation in the fish if fed every day.Hope this helps.

if it's because of the food you feed the worms, can you feed baby cereal to whiteworms?

Re: grindle worms and white worms
I recommend feeding a variety of foods to your worm cultures.
Generic Spirulina Flakes are a good food to use as one of the worms' staple foods. I believe they are largely only as good as their diet.
I agree that fish should be fed other foods in addition to White or Grindal worms but one daily feeding of worms to catfish or most other fish for that matter, seems to be fine, ime.
