No, it's sort of the other way round(*): I think of music (Tago Mago) or a film (Hook) and then try to search a fish that may fit - which in this case turned out to be a pleco.
This is restricted to "artists-riddles" btw

On the subject of L numbers, I noticed that the cat-e-log entries for both

and

Hemiancistrus subviridis

lay claim to being L200.

Is that a "bug", or am I revealing my cluelessness (again)?

I know L numbers aren't exactly scientific, but name collisions can't be good...

ii) By adding a strategic "I" to my specific name, you can make that end in the name of a (different) transition metal.

Ha! finally managed to come up with a puzzle which baffles Marc

iii) The genus and species names will both end in the complete name of a transition metal once an 'I' is added in the appropriate place.
iv) The "appropriate place" can be anywhere in the genus/species name.

e.g. if there were a genus or species called foobarum, then adding an "I" could give foobarium, which ends in the name of a metal.. (However, Barium is not a transition metal)

v) I'm using the "loose" definition of transition metal, so you have some 40 elements to choose from..

vi) Multiply the atomic numbers of the two elements in question and the answer is the year that Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte became president of France.

Nope, remarkably, they're two species. The very first L200 was the Baryancistrus, but a lot of folks reckoned the high fin was just a male versus female thing. It wasn't until we saw lots of big ones that folks worked out they were in fact two different genera and the L200 Hi-Fin thing appeared to differentiate them. Anyway, they're both L200, but now we have two scientific names for them, it doesn't really matter.

Wrong continent and this fish is now going by the correct name but not my fish. Everyone, Cat-elog included is using the 'wrong name' but it's just a fact of fishy life now and must be an universally accepted mistake.

Does that name thing makes sense to you guys? I'm hoping I read it right but...
It says :

If one follows this original description, M. tengara is a fish that is very similar to (and may even be a junior synonym of) M. vittatus. It appears that M. carcio is actually the earliest and thus correct name for this small species. This fact appears to have been missed, or at least left uncorrected, by those working with these fishes and it continues to be universally known as M. tengara.

There's a fine line in this game between being too obvious - giving the game away immediately and being too obscure..
I've evidently landed at the obscure end of the spectrum this time.

iv) S. America is the correct continent. Nitrate was imported to Europe from Valparaiso on these ships until the 1920s-30s.
v) It is a "ship-spotter" distinction but relevant - the ships on that route weren't Clippers, they were Barques.
vi) The fish you want is not from Chile.. It is from further north & east.
vii) Clue i) does refer to the species.
viii) The shipyard in question has a geographical link with a "scouser" pop group.
