what color are the eyes of the top fish? blue or brown/orange?

in the latter case it could be as well. also, the head pattern on H. cochliodon seems to match better to me.

bottom fish is , the first picture shows a bit of the belly and from what i can see i think it's not

Photos above, at least on the computer I am using, makes the eyes look blue. If they are not blue, Dutchfry is almost certainly correct.

i understand Shane, i see blue as well, that's why i'm asking, blue could be the flash of the camera maybe.

so the eyes are brown, i'd say H. cochliodon, very nice fish!

this fish is out of my comfort zone for identifying, but this picture of H. soniae has eyes that look distinctly brown:

Several other pictures in the Catelogof H. soniae seem to have the blue/brown mixture that Andrea's fish appears to show (although whether this is just due to reflecting back the flash in certain parts of the eye, I'm not sure).

I have not used the flash.

I double check the first fish and the iris is very dark, possibly blue, possibily dark brown. I'm not sure at 100%. It's not easy.

I stick to H. cochliodon, based primarly on the head pattern.
