I've seen this catfish for sale on ebay in a small tank with 3 goldfish. Can someone id it for me so that I can see if I can give it a better home?

Looks like a Megalechis thoracata.

Ok thanks guys :)

So would it be ok in my four foot tank with a 10 inch common plec, a honey gourami and two young angelfish?

Yes - fine - these are very amiable catfish
