Want to keep catfish
I have kept cold water fish and then tropical for years but want to keep something a bit more special. I had corys but my tank wasn't ideal (no under-gravel filter this time) and I loved them (they thought they were danios and used to top-feed!).
I want to have a 100 liter tank set-up a a bio-trope with water-fall (maybe) and water flow.
Any suggestions?

Re: Want to keep catfish
Given that there are around 2200 species of catfish in the Cat-eLog, and we have absolutely no idea which ones of those you'd like to keep, it's very difficult to keep. If I asked you "What curtains do you think I should have", I doubt you would come up with the answer of "burgundy ones" in the first few guesses - because you don't know my taste, and you don't know what my front room looks like, etc, etc. The same applies to catfish species and their owners.
A 100 liter tank, assuming it's roughly the usual size of 80 x 30 x 35 cm +/- a few centimeter allows you to keep fish up to about 15 cm (half the shortest side or 1/4 the longest side, whichever is smaller). That still leaves an awful lot of species in the list of possible ones.
But it would be better if you give us some ideas of what you think would be nice, and we can probably say "Yes, that's fine" or "no, that won't work". Once you have figured out your main fish, then go figure something YOU think would work with it, and we will be able to advice you on the suitability of that species.

How about a trio of - then you could drop in some african barbs or tetras?

Thanks for the replies. I will have a browse through the site to see what I fancy then.

It is probably better to look around your local shop first, and then look in the Cat-eLog. Otherwise, you may find that what you want isn't available, and then what do you do?
