cory Trilineatus spawning/Fry

Hi all
I'm a newbie here,relatively new to fish keeping and corys
Well i bought 6 cory Trilineatus on the 28/9/09,unfortunately 3 died within a few days of each other,they were very small and all appeared to have died the same way,they would stay on the bottom not moving then died within 12 hours??
Anyway since then the other 3 appear fine at the moment and have been spawning the past few weeks!! ,the first 2 eggs i saved hatched 10 days ago,the 2nd batch was 7 days ago of 6 eggs that hatched are now 3 days old,i also found a further 3 eggs which are due to hatch in the next day or so!!
All 8 fry are doing well,but i'm a bit worried whether i'm caring for them fully,at the moment the 2 older fry are in the 4 gal tank,complete with sponge filter,heater and airstone and a little sand on the bottom,and the new 6 fry are floating on top on this tank in a solid plastic container with an airstone in there only until they reach about a week old then i will put them in with the older ones,will this be ok?
I am worried i might suck up the smaller ones if i put them in now,i do a 50% waterchange daily and clean the bottom of both,they're being fed on liquidfry 1,frozen baby brine which i defrost in some tank water before adding very small amounts,firstbite powder food again soaked in tank water,i use a pipette to put the food straight into the tank near the fry.
I'm use to platy fry,but cory fry are so tiny
Am i doing it right?

Congrats on your fry! Keep up with your daily water changes. The powdered flake food and/or the baby brine shrimp or microworms(if you have them) are good starter foods. Seeing a little orange belly is a good sign. The baby brine shrimp gives them the orange belly. They have their yolk sac for the first day and feed off of this. The water changes are very important. Because, as they grow, their waste output grows. It's also important to remove any uneaten food. At some point, you may want to move them to a larger tank. You will see the C.trilineatus go through many color changes as they grow. It's quite amazing. Have fun watching them.

Congrats! Sounds like you're doing everything successfully so good for you

My C.trilineatus have just spawned for the first time, I collected the eggs last night and set up the plastic floating tank with the airstone.
I have raised several batches of C. paleatus but this is my first go with the tri's. All the eggs have previously been on the glass but the trilineatus eggs were all on leaves?? Did you get eggs from the glass or plants or both? Seemed kind of odd that I didn't find even one on the glass.

By the way, when I didn't have fry food, I shaved 'dust' off shrimp pellets for them just after the egg sac disappeared. I also mixed in a shaving of algae wafer and used a big leaf to float on top of the fry tank water. The fry would gather in the shadow under it during the day and this made feeding quite easy.

All 8 corys are still growing well, 2 are 18 days old and the other 6 are 14 days old,the 3 eggs unfortunately didn't hatched,partly my fault i put them in with the fry and i think they became mouldy with the food!
They have been regularly spawning,i have rescued one egg due to hatch soon and i've just seen another egg on a silk leaf that i'm going to remove shortly unless the platies beat me to it,which seem to be why i dont find many
I seen a fry in the tank last week,but it disappeared when i went to get a little pot to retrieve it,hopefully it will make it.
I'm still doing the 50% w/c and have moved them to a bigger tank.
They're so cute,doing typical cory behaviour going up and down the tank and 1 whos growing the most spends most of its time sat on the sponge filter,no doubt getting loads of micro bits off of it
