Hi
IMO
Looking at the pic of the tank can't see much if any aeration? they do require a lot. Also they like a lot of flow to keep them healthy this might cause the pailness in color. If not provided and they are not happy with the environment they are in,they can be prone to jumping out of the tank you might need to get a top for the tank or if you have one use it.

Hope it helps Jerry

Thanks for tips on tank setup. I knew that the tank isn't set up right for proper nugget keeping after reading other forums. I'm going to slowly start remake it. 1st on the list is filteration. I added a powerhead and going to add a fluval for more flow. I'll put more pic's of inner working of my tank.

Hi
A power head is good,if it can be fitted with a venturi for extra aeration would be better

Nice tank, but as already said, some changes are necessary. And you might want to remove the Echinodorus before it becomes Nugget-food. That became the favourite food of my L177.

Well I added the fluval in tonight and with it and the powerhead my tetras are having a hard time finding a spot to rest. I'm going to do some more mods to te filter ie up the flow rate to 350+ gpm from 265 gpm on my return pump from the sump. After that I'm going to try changing out substrate and plants without taking out the fish. I dont have time to do it all in one shot due my 5 month old. Here are some pictures of the guts of the tank. Sorry about power cords in the way.
