Hope we're not talking about Melanotaeniidae, because (too) many species names overlap :wink:

Wow, finally a correct answer

1 my name would have me in an incorrect familie
2 I'm kept, but still not bred
3 my speciesname is found in Asia as well, but I'm not asian myself

clue 1 phrased differently

1 If you know my name, you would assume to know what familie I'm in. However, this is wrong.

As an axample, Corydoras is not a Dorid, although doras would suggest this. (obviously, I'm not a Corydoras)

So I'm thinking it's something like along the lines of - but I don't think it's that species at all, as Glanis is a Asia + Europe species. Perhaps "Lophiobagrus", from Africa?

So, Matts, I'm sorry, it's not right

YESSSSS :thumbsup:

pimelodella is in Heptapteridae, but the name would suggest Pimeloidae
lasterigata reminded me of Barbus lasterigata, coming from Asia (a large sized fish, 10 - 20 cm bolylength, if I rememeber correctly)

Marc, your turn

New fish:

1) my genus name indicates I'm not a full member of my family
2) my species name is not solely used for fish. Also the UK counterpart of car manufacturer Opel had types with that name

1) Hemi-
2) car -> Vauxhall velox..?
3) VW Beetle -> Bembidion velox?
5) browser -> Firefox -> Vulpes velox ?

Looking at the build of the fish, velox (fast/speedy) seems an appropriate name..(not so sure about the Vauxhall).
