mail notifications no longer get through

Post by krazyGeoff »

Hi,
Mid november I started to no longer receive email notifications from my topics and topics that I had made postings on. I was still receiving mails for topics that I had subscribed to, but made no posts in.

Now I no longer receive any emails?

I have tried to unsubscribe and re subscribe but this has had no effect.

I have not changed my mail provider or mail client or I.E. version, and do receive emails from other sites that I have subscriptions to.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
Thanks

Geoff

Geoff,

First thing is double check your email address in your profile to ensure it is correct.

Next you need to look at your email client, make sure emails sent from planetcatfish.com are whitelisted, check spam folder, check anti virus email stuff all that.

Not much else I can do (the emails will be getting sent) but happy to work with you in this thread to look at the issues at your end.

Thanks Jools,
I am computer literate which may or may not help
Well thats what they pay me to do anyway....

Here is a screen shot of my mail...

You can see that some come through, but some just don't make it.
I have added @planetcatfish.com to the safe senders list, and we will see if your reply comes through.

Cheers

No idea if this makes any difference, but what have you got your timezone set to in your user profile?

I have actually noticed that lately. I'll get a notification and go to it and there are 1-3 other post since the last time I got a notification.

Time zone is eastern.

There is a setting as follows:

"E-mail package size:
This is the number of maximum e-mails sent out in one package. This setting is applied to the internal message queue; set this value to 0 if you have problems with non-delivered notification e-mails"

which I have now changed to 0 to see if that makes any difference.

Jools
It was set to NZ time, and I have updated it with the daylight savings time.
