The next fish-shop day out...
Well, I haven't made any concrete plans, I just thought we'd discuss it here... If necessary, I'll then create a new thread for the concrete plans.
Here's just some suggestions on shops worth visiting closer to London:
MA, St. Albans
MA, Bourne End
Wildwoods, Enfield
AmWell aquatics ??
Wholesale Tropicals, Bethnal Green Road, London.
MA, Oxford (Wheatley)
MA, Farnham
Richard (or anyone else) may want to add/subtract from this list...

The Aquatic design centre, Great Portland Street, London is definitely worth a look.

Ah, never been to that one. May try to make a visit one day after work (or during a "long lunch", perhaps) as I work near Waterloo Station - but it's an hour to walk, so I guess it would have to be a tube trip...

If it's a southern trip i'm probably not really best placed to suggest any other venues
(except MA Wembly?)

Re: The next fish-shop day out...
I was actually trying to come up with a list of shops further a field as well, and then we'd sort out which ones we'd like to visit. I'm by no means saying the next day out has to be close to London - just not as far away as Wigan!
Richard, you suggested some "Midlands" shops - care to repeat the list of shops?
I'm sure there are good shops around the south/east side of London too, but I don't know if there are any members that have experience and interest in visiting those.

Re: The next fish-shop day out...
Sure, we'll be happy to have you come along.
When we have done this in the past, we meet up at the first shop on the planned trip (and people living along the same route often join along the way to avoid more cars than necessary arriving at the first shop). Once at the first shop, we join up in one or two cars and go around to the different shops, and then return back to the original shop before setting of home.
If, as one suggestion, we go to the Oxford (Wheatley), I'd be happy to give you a lift from here [or somewhere along the way between, e.g. A3/M25 junction] to Oxford - but I'm afraid I'm not driving via Dartford... ;)
