Compatability?
Lophiobagrus brevispinis and Phyllonemus typus, are they compatible in a 48" tank? If no, what other Tangyanikan cats would be compatible with them? (would be the catfish + cyprichromis and maybe a pair of the Mastacembalus eels.)
Anyone forsee a problem here for a show tank idea (living room next to the jag catfish tank).

P Typus & L Brevispinnis can get on fine together (& with cyprichromis), you could also inclide either Syno Lucipinnis, petricola, sp.2.
The only thing i'd ask is that you make sure they are brevispinnis & not cyclurus (these are often misidentified)
Not sure about eels - i have seen some sp munch up cichlids but i've also seen a sp being picked on terribly by a Syno Polli

Re: Compatability?
As long as the Cyprichromis are not so small they can be eaten by the P.typus.(would be the catfish + cyprichromis and maybe a pair of the Mastacembalus eels.)
I have not kept Tangayikan eels but I would think as some of the fish you are asking about are small in Tanganyikan terms that they may eventually be in danger with any of the eel species from the lake as they get a good size, even the smaller species I think get to about 30 cm.

Re: Compatability?
Thanks guys, Atlantis seems to be really good with the ID's on their fish. I have one of the owners sending some out (8) to my local fish store on the next order (week or two out.) They are also sending in 6 typus.

Excellent...I just recommend making sure you do your homework on the P.typus as things can quickly go wrong with them...welcome to the dark continent...
