Hi, what would be the best shape/size breeding cave for L333's?

Cheers

From what I understand material, size and position is the most important parts (not necessarily in that order).

Hypancistrus prefer stone or stone-like material, other fish, for example Panaque, will benefit from caves made from wood or similar (e.g. bamboo), and at leas the common Ancistrus appear to be unfussy regarding material.

Size should be "slightly deeper than the fish is long", and just wide/tall enough that the fish fits in there - about 1 fish + half a pectoral fin length or so in width, and perhaps the height of the fish plus a third of the first dorsal spine - it's not like you need to calculate it with 5 decimal places precision, more as a rough guide. It's generally considered a good idea to provide a few different caves, and let the male choose... From what I understand, the fish actually prefer irregular shapes to perfect rounds/straights on the sides.

I'm not an expert on position, but certainly the fish would like to have a bit of flow running past the cave.
