Cost of Bristlenose in Your Neighborhood?

Im curious, Because Ive never seen them in the lfs here. What do longfin albino and longfin amelanistic blue eye bristlenose go for at your LFS's?

Common small ones are about £3-5 (approx US $5-8), large ones around £7-10 (around US $11-16). The variations are not that common, so it's harder for me to give concise prices - I've seen anything from about the same as the common variation, but commonly 2-8x the common price - yes, that's a big range, and unfortunately, that's often the case with less commonly available fish. The fish that all shops have in stock all the time is usually the same price everywhere, but fish that are only seen once in a while can vary 10x in price from one place to another.

Standard bristlenose around my area in Australia go for between 10 and 15 dollars depending on size (roughly $7 - $12 US). Albino longfins have been going for around $20 Australian for around 4-5cm (about $17 US). The blue eyes I haven't seen locally, but depending on size I would estimate around $30-$40 Australian dollars. My lfs also carries some calico longfin b/n cats for around $45 Australian dollars at about 5cm in length. That said though it all depends on the retailer around my area as some carry more longfins than others and the prices vary depending on availability.

Whatever is available from local breeders is bound to be a lot less expensive - and the volume produced by local breeder will affect the amount of fish available to LFS's, and the amount of money the LFS charges depends on whether the fish are considered unusual or not.

Very few people buy BNP's from LFS's in my area now. There are so many local breeders of regular, long fin, albino and all the combinations. Regular BNP's are around $5 Cdn, long finned $6 - $10, Calico's about the same, long finned Calico's about $15, Albinos around $6 and albino long fins around $12 - $15. Not so long ago, a regular BNP would run $10+, so local breeders are definitely having a huge impact.
