NEED ID HELP FOR NEWW CORYS
Hello, I ordered six extra-large C. reticulatus cats from my LFS and only three were the C. reticulatus and I need help in identifying the other three. See attachments

I think these could be the ,but i not 100% certain as there are two similar species of cories( and ) that look similar to the C.ambiacus.To make a more positive ID of this cory i think we should wait for Ian"coryman"fuller to ID this,as he is the expert in identifying corydoras catfish.

If we make two asumptions:
1. The C. reticulatus is genuine (and not something looking the same from another part of South America).
2.These "not reticulatus" fish were actually exported from the same part of South America.
Then C. agassizi is more likely, based on the type location - however, the distribution listed for this fish is nowhere near its type location. Neither of the other species are near the C. reticulatus.
It is of course entirely possible that the fish you have is not at all close in distribution, and they came from somewhere else completely.

Matt, Thank you for the response and some good information. My LFS tells me that the fish from his distributor come mostly from from Asia. These are extra large breeder and in great shape. So, yes to C.reticulatus and yes to C.agassizii or not?

If they are from a asia, that gives no indication at all as to which it is (and these fish are certainly not wild in Asia!). Could be just about any.
By the way, I think all of the "big spots, pointy nose" species suggested are from Western Amazon region, either Amazonas in Brazil, or Peru or Colombia. But since it's an indirect import, the location of one species means absolutely nothing in identifying the next species. [There are more than one place in Brazil with the same name, and Google maps gave me the eastern location, when what I should have looked for is the western one - that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!].
