Glass Shrimp

Post by RogerMcAllen »

I am in the Midwest, USA, and was wondering if there would be a problem with putting a couple dozen glass shrimp in my pond. I think that they cats would love them, and I was thinking of trying to breed them in my smaller pond.

If you're adding the shrimp for food, I don't see any problems. I'm not that sure you might be able to breed them successfully. A number of freshwater shrimp species require a brackish/marine habitat for the larvae to develop.
