I usually use salt to cure ick on my flower horn fishes. Is it safe to use salt on an electric catfish? I have heard that it is not good to use salt on scales fishes.

Not a good idea. Electric cats (like many other catfishes) are sensitive to salt.
Use an ich medication instead.

Daily water changes with good gravel vacuuming will greatly reduce the amount of reinfection that occurs on the fish also, along with a slight raise in temperature to speed up the life cycle.
