in Aquaristik Fachmagazin 2003/5 is Baryancistrus sp. (L018) describe as a synonym from BARYANCISTRUS SP. (L177)
please delete Baryancistrus sp. (L018)

Hi,

also have to disagree with this one.
Currently, L 18 is considered to be the juvenile form of L 85. The form L 177 differs in coloration from both in juvenile as well as adult stage.

In any case, if any number would have to be deleted, it would be L 177, since L 18 is the senior number.

Actually, l-numbers are treated the same as common names really, so they would just get moved from one species entry to the other. Anyway, we don't even know the scientific designation of , so I think it's really a rather premature move. While there is one suggestion (in 2003) to do this, the weight of literate (and much of it more recent) suggests otherwise.

I'd suggest a bit more balanced research before making suggestions like this.
