Whiptail I.D

Hi people this is the closest photo I could find, I bought two of these little chaps on Saturday, my LFS couldn't tell me their true name. This photo is a 98% perfect match, only my whiptails are only babies.
Any guess?

Definitely Sturisoma, and most likely either festivum or aureum based on availability. There are other species available occasionally, but those are the most common.

You might try taking a picture because even if we identify the fish pictured, it is not necessarily your fish.

Indeed. The fish posted looks like

Sturisoma aureum

, but most captive bred stocks appear to be

Sturisoma aff_festivum

. Sturisoma aureum are less often available as juveniles, as adults are usually Colombian wild-caught. Sometimes local breeders might offer S. aureum though.

Either way your fish will be one of those two species. Care will be as reported for S. aureum.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies.
I was lead to believe they were wild caught but LFS do say that just to add a bit extra to the price.
I only have a 5 mega pixel camera and it is struggling to pick them out as they are so small.
Once they have grown a bit more I'll post a true photo.
