Bunocephalus coracoideus growth

Whats the biggest anyone has one? And how long did it take to get to that size? Ive had one for about a year now it was about 9cm when i got it and its only grown 1cm in the hole time ive had it. Is that normal?

I've got a couple now but they are only about 7cm SL, I did have one before about 10cm SL. Are you sure yours is coracoideus? If it is the one in your avatar that looks like a colombianus to me, although it is hard to tell from such a small photograph.

I don't think 1cm is too bad, I wouldn't worry.

It looks like B. colombianus to me based on the shape, although would need to see a close up from underneath to be sure.

Either way then yes they can be quite slow growing as if looked after well they can live for some years.

All the fish I purchased under the coracoideus name where always something else...

People export almost every Bunocephalus they find under this name!!

Yes, most exported as coracoideus tend to be colombianus. I have some true coracoideus at the moment, and there are a few pics of the larger individual in my scotcat images in my link.
