does anyone keep any L059?

Post by kevin82 »

Hi all,

As the title says, I'm wondering if anyone keep L59 Ancistrus hoplogenys?

They are very nice and I have a chance of some this weekend. Not sure on price yet but tempted all the same.

Also, how would they do with an LDA051 that I've picked up last weekend?

Thanks in advance

Don't keep them myself - would love to, but when Pier was trying to get some in, they didn't arrive for some reason.

They don't come in very often - we only have three pictures of them in the Cat-eLog. There are 15 registered keepers, which is somewhere in the middle of the range between 1 keeper and hundreds [about half the Cat-eLog (1136 out of 2500+) isn't kept by anyone].

If your came from Paraguay river, I'd suggest that they don't belong in the same tank - the LDA051 originates in a cooler river than the temp of around 25-28'C that the .

I would place a fair bit on money on the fact that those keepers listed as keeping L059, might not actually have that species. I don't know anyone keeping it.
