Hello from Catfish and Loach Keeper in Florida

Post by Starsplitter7 »

Hi there,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a long time lurker and love catfish. This is one of the first fish sites I ever used, and everyone recommends this site if there's a question about the catfish. Thanks for such an amazing website.

I am completely enamoured with Bristlenoses, and I am a fan of common Plecos. I also keep some rubberlips, wonderful Oto Cats, about 8 species of Cories, a territorial Gibby, a sweet whiptail, a small school of Upside Down Cats, a couple S. eruptus, a trio of raphaels . . . and a few I am not thinking about right now. I have never met a catfish I didn't like. (I can pull out scientific names if I need to for discussions.)

I go through a lot of zucchini and algae wafers (which I buy by the kilo) at my house, and I don't have a single scrap of algae in my tanks. :)

I have 8 tanks at this time, and more in the wings in case I need a Quarantine tank. I also have a Bristlenose nursery set up right now. Pretty exciting. My fish fry from eggs.

I just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the info. I look forward to getting to know some catfish peoeple. :)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the welcome! :)

I forgot, I also have 2 of the small bumblebee cats (the ones that are 3" not 8") and a trio of banjos who were almost thrown away the day I brought them home, because I thought they were dead in the bag. I didn't know Banjos played dead so effectively. Now I have had them a couple years. Doing fine and still playing dead.

Thanks for the welcome. I am completely enchanted with Bristlenoses. But then I haven't met any catfish I don't like, although I don't keep any predatorial species.
