Akysis Feeding
Ive got 3 Akysis longifilis and 7 A. prashadi. All i can get them to eat is frozen and live bloodworm. Ive had them for atleast 2 weeks now and have tried bloodworm pellets, algae wafers, tetra prime, flakes and brine shrimp and all of it has just been left. Any ideas on what else will work?

Re: Akysis Feeding
Live bloodworm, brineshrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae, glassworm, whiteworm, finely chopped earthworm & any of these that are frozen.
In addition, tetra delica has proven to be accepted but dry prepared foods are seldom taken, particularly in the early days of keeping these species

Re: Akysis Feeding
I find that Akysis species do not readily accept commercially prepared foods.
As you have found they will readily feast upon live and frozen bloodworm, but turn their noses up at 'ready meals'.
I tend to keep to feeding live and frozen foods. These include daphnia, bloodworm, brine shrimp and the small type of mysis shrimp. In addition I feed them live white worms and chopped earth worms. I once tried some cod roe with some A prashadi which they took with great gusto.
