Breeding data entry...
The size of the parents is in millimeters, I think. However, it doesn't say so on the page...
The field for "colour" of the eggs only accepts three characters - something like "Light purplish brown" might be difficult to describe properly in three characters...
Otherwise, it seems to work OK.

I tried to enter some data in that section but got several errors whilst filling out the form....
Every great achievement begins with a dream

Re: Breeding data entry...
Please report the details of those errors!
I think there are problems with TDS/Hardness values...

OK, I have fixed the noted mm and egg colour issues.

Did you report the errors you received whilst trying to enter data?
It does looks like Mats' original issues are resolved, not sure if that means this one can be moved to 'done' as well?

Re: Breeding data entry...
I am very close to moving this feature out of beta and into production. Hold off until then? Note that while in BETA bugs are useful to know, but might be ignored. However, once it's live (in production), then bugs are taken a lot more seriously.

Re: Breeding data entry...
As far as I can see, I just need to fix two things.
1) Edit an existing breeding report rather tha keep adding new ones each time.
2) Some of the values do not default correctly (populations & tank size).

Re: Breeding data entry...
Now, if my species A breeds, and I report that, and then they breed again, is that a new report, or just additional data on the same breeding report?
And if it is the same breeding report, where do we draw the limit to make it a new one? Say for example I move my fish from one tank to another, and the temp, pH/conductivity/etc is completely different, and they breed after the move?
Oh, and if I've bred my "Farlowella acus", and then decide that perhaps F. vittata is a better match for the fish, does the "change species" function also move the breeding report? (And what happens to the breeding points in this case? ;) )
I'm just thinking out loud, so I don't necessarily know the "right" answer.

Re: Breeding data entry...
Good questions.
The breeding report should be amended to show the range of conditions, foods etc that the fish will spawn under.

Yes (it will once it works!) and the BAP points are recalculated "on-the-fly" just like all that data shown to the right of forum posts.MatsP wrote:Oh, and if I've bred my "Farlowella acus", and then decide that perhaps F. vittata is a better match for the fish, does the "change species" function also move the breeding report? Re: Breeding data entry...
The add and edit functions now appear to be working and you can get a them from either your my cats or my aquaria lists.
Mats, have at it! (I will empty the table before we go live, but this is your chance to test it hard).
I think this is close to launch.....

It's live. I've moved this to resolved, but feel free to resurrect it or post individual big reports.
