Let me start out by saying that I have done business with That Fish Place for years and have always been very happy with their service. They are a saviour to an aquarist overseas.
They recently came out with a new line of fish foods that are very reasonably priced. In hopes of finding a bargain, I ordered several types. At a minimum, they should be held responsible for false advertising...
Their "Premium Spirulina" flakes and pellets have almost no Spirulina and are actually 38%for the flakes and 43(!)% for the pellets protein. If you buy these Spirulina foods for certain catfishes or sensitive cichlids, and they form a good part of the fish's diet, you will have a disaster (or a very bad case of Malawi bloat) on your hands. Spirulina is 6th! on the ingredients list. How does that qualify as "Premium Spirulina"? Compare to Wardley "Spirulina Discs" (my old stand by) where the MAIN ingredient is Spirulina. Their "Premium Shrimp" pellets also do not even have shrimp in them but the rather strange ingredient "marine proteins." You get what you pay for...
