L240 Galaxy Pleco Breedin project

Post by Nuno Landeck »

I have a group of five L240 galaxy about 4.5 "to 5.5" and I liked to breed them.
I liked to know what size the tank must have " mim ".
At what size the galaxy L240 Breed (what size should their breeding).
May I keep the galaxy together to form a pair or do I identify a male and a female and then sorted out the other?

Thanks for the help and sorry for my bad English.

hey nuno, I have a breeding trio of 007 (pink spot variant) galaxias. My male is over 8 inches and the females around 6 and have gotten them to spawn once so far. In my opinion yours are not mature enough another inch or two. I have mine in a 30 gal breeder, 36x18x12 high (in inches),you have a couple more but you also need to sex them so you dont get a couple 2 or 3 males fighting for territory and breeding caves. Take caution though because my male is quite aggressive especially during feeding, he has killed 1 female(a while back). I placed a couple 8 inch pieces of one and a half inch pvc for the females as a place to get away from the male. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted :d
