Zebra or Clown????

Post by ken_g_w »

Hi all, Im new to this forum and would love to hear your suggestions on the identity of this fellow that the fish shop was selling as L046
I think it may be L168 but it never changes colour and is whiter than most Ive seen.
In the Aqualog book on L numbers it looks like a fish described as 'new xingu zebra' at the back but has no other details. I would love to know if he's a carnivore or a veggie so I can make sure he's getting fed properly.

Thanks,

Ken

I think these are more likely to be juvenile L052.

It's L134 Peckoltia and need a mixed diet of both veggies and meaty foods but not to heavy like bloodworms, cyclops, brine shrimp and some sinking wafers are good food for these little fellows.

hope you didn't pay L046 prices. L134 sell for about £12-£14

Thanks a bunch guys! have updated my sig already!
It was actually €40 which is an excellent price for a rarer type Plec here in Ireland, and Ive been looking for a 46 for ages but am much happier with a Omnivore!!

Hi Ken!

they are usually a yellowish base coloration
Could the fish you take for a L134 a Dekeyseria (Zonancistrus ) pulcher ,they are similar looking and have a rather whiter colouration
Cheers
