Help me i.d. a pleco...
I was at my lfs today and they had gotten in their shipment of "peppermint" plecos which I had been waiting for, but I'm wondering if the lfs even has the right i.d. on them. These were extremely similar to the pic of L254, but there was absolutely no spotting on the head. I was expecting to see the white spotting over the entire fish as in the pictures I have seen. I realize there is some debate as far as the classification of these types of plecos, but can anyone shed some light on this subject? It almost looks exactly like the angelicus pleco except for the absence of the spots on the head area. Could this just be a variation?

I don't mean to double post, but after reading some of the other posts I wanted to add that these guys had no white seams, the fins were pretty translucent and there were no bristles on the face. I know it's not much to go off of but I would really appreciate any input into this subject. I'm going back tomorrow to get either one of these unknowns or a scribbled pleco depending on if I can get some kind of i.d.
