Did you know fantastic help is an anagram of Planet Catfish? This forum is for those of you with pictures of your catfish who are looking for help identifying them. There are many here to help and a firm ID is the first step towards keeping your catfish in the best conditions.
but I can't imagine that is correct. I tried to go through the CatElog but none of the popup pics look even close. This fish is a very young at only about 1.5 inches long. A couple more pics to help with ID. Ignore the shrimp in the last pic they are harmless.
I'd agree with Richard. I never knew why I've been seeing two types of young, 1"-2", euptera - one spotty and the other stripey/network pattern. But I have seen quite a few of them labeled euptera and looking just like that pic 4 pointed out above.
But then, again, I am no syno expert. Let's wait for others. If someone thinks there is a small chance it could be a rare Syno, I'd grab him, if he was cheap.
The pic looks like from the Pet Supermarket, the analog of nation-wide Petco and Petsmart and Walmart pet dept. If yes, the euptera guess becomes more likely.
