I have a 1m 36G tank with 2 bristle nose and I want a larger bottom feeder to go in with them. I have mollies, platies and a red tail shark. I really like pl*cos, is there one that will grow bigger than my bristle noses but not out grow my tank?
Is it Ancistrus temminckii? It is called Temminck's Bristlenose in my book. Here is it's description:
Family:Loricariidae Size: 5 1/2 Diet:Herbivorous Tank level:Lower Temperment:Peaceful
Small, pale spots cover the body of this fish and extend into
the fins. The eyes are set well back on the large, which,
as the name suggests, carries distinctive growths on the upper
surface of the snout. Females have a single row of "bristles"
between the eyes, and males have a double row that may
form a Y-shape. Bristles are always proniminent at spawning
time. The mouth forms a suckerlike disk.
Habitat Fast-flowing waters
in Guyana.
Remark Usually kept to
remove algae, this fish needs
a well-oxygenated, well-
planted aquarium and
blanched green vegetables.
I've tried to kill the pain, but only brought more(so much more) I lay dying, and I'm pouring crimson regret and betrayal I'm dying, praying, bleeding, and screaming...Am I too lost to be saved? Am I too lost? My God my Tourniquet return to Salvation, My God my Tourniquet return to me Salvation.
After searching the net I found a few pics and they look very similar to the bristle noses I already have. I would like one that is quite distinguishable from my bristle nose plecs.
Any others? I live in Brisbane, so they have to available here.
