I have never liked this term when referring to fish. It's fine for candy and widgets, but that's about it. :d - Frank

vast majority of us are with both of you, surely... but also just trying to make sense of what the opposite side thinks and does, thinking aloud or rather "awritten", so to speak...

The term 'Pieces' has been in the export trade as long as I can remember, well at least it was in the early 1970's when I first entered the trade.

There are no translation issues as far as I am aware, just a simple statement of a number of units available. It is a relative short term, 50 pieces. It could quite easily have been 'Units'

It is becoming more evident in the hobby because the gap between the wholesale trade and hobbyist is getting ever closer.

Slightly off topic, but the words that are annoying to me are those that are not spoken properly, you know the ones where the 'th' is replace wit 'f' like, fink/ing, think/ing; nufing, nothing; fought, thought.

Another is text writing in letters, but that's a whole new ball game.
